Saleem Technologies’ Track’em® software has won a contract to track materials and fabrication progress and delivery for Leighton Contractor’s work on an iron ore mining project in the Pilbara, Western Australia.
Patent-pending software, which tracks construction materials and assets using GPS, Barcode and RFID technology, Track’em® helps project stakeholders to deliver construction projects on time and budget. The company recently released an upgraded fabrication module to monitor fabricated structural steel.
Track’em has been engaged by Leighton Contractors’ SMP division, with Calibre as EPCM to track and manage construction materials, including fabrication tracking, for Leighton’s $45 million Structural, Mechanical, Piping (SMP) contract on the mine.
This is Track’em’ s second contract for Leighton Contractors. In 2011, Track’em® won a contract to track and manage construction materials for Leighton’s civil and underground works on the high profile and complex Gorgon project.
Track’em ® inventor and CEO of Saleem Technologies, Kashif Saleem said he is very happy to be awarded this second Leighton Contractors project and looks forward to building a long-term relationship with the company.
Invented by Saleem Technologies founder and CEO Kashif Saleem, Track’em® is a web-based, GPS, Barcode and RFID material tracking system that can locate items within five seconds. The advanced software system combines integrated solutions designed to make project management more efficient, manage time better and reduce overall project costs through finding an item’s exact location, including when, where, and by who it was last scanned. 24/7 monitoring can be provided for each piece of equipment from fabrication to installation and completion. Track’em® has been used by leading construction companies Leighton Contractors, FMG, Worley Parsons, John Holland, United Group; and Downer Engineering.
